okay but dan stopping by the bartons every morning on his way to school and pretty much ending up having breakfast there while gossiping with cooper and lila. also dan greeting laura with his signature smirk and ‘hello señora b’ because he thinks to be fun. oh, and when lila tells him she’s going to cuny too, he’s just 'Y E S. awesome. i’m gonna keep an eye on you though because you’re my friend’ and he’d say it and also regret it shortly after because she can kick his ass very easily to be such a small girl so she’ll probably be fine anyway.
cooper would roll his eyes all the time because dan and lils are the worst when it comes to gossiping. like, they’re almost always a duo/whole package thingy but they know things about everyone??
also dan teaching lila spanish because she thinks it’s cool so she tries to impress him every morning but she’s just so cute with her little fake accent and weird flamenco moves, bless her heart.
and before they’re at cuny they just joke all the time about the fact that both their studies have the word 'med’ in it; when they’re there they mostly spend their time judging couples and falling into long awkward silences. they start dating a couple of days before thanksgiving so when laura asks 'how is it going with boys since daniel is always… around?’ lila breaks the awkwardness of the thing by telling her 'well, i’m dating him so it shouldn’t be a big problem’.
